Hansel and Gretel (15) seen @ cineworld O2
This is set in a Germanic like rural setting. This is about two children who find a gingerbread house and find out that it is populated by a witch but you know the story don't you? A couple of years after they become two witch hunters. Their mission is to get rid of witches who take children and use them to read the future. The scene I like is when the witch hunters fight with the witches and the fantasy weapons they have are a semi automatic crossbow and the shotgun which Hansel uses. The photography of this film was stunning as it made the germanic setting very beautiful and dark.
The Director has made this film pretty awesome as there is a lot of bad ass shooting and it has some sad scenes as the witches used the kids for slavery.

Place Beyond the Pines
The film is about Luke (Ryan Gosling). He performs at the local fairground as a stunt-bike rider. He visits his ex-girlfriend's house and finds she has moved on from him which he is not happy about, and also finds out that he has a baby. Bradley Cooper plays a police officer whose story runs alongside that of Luke.
I found the story very interesting as lot of different elements come together to form a great story about a cop and a bank robber. There are strong performances from the whole ensemble. One death of a main character effects everyone in the story, and therefore no character is unimportant. The storyline is rather strange, as the film appears to be about cops and robbers but is also more deeply about families and children.
Ryan Gosling was excellent and created a moving portrayal of his character; I felt sympathetic towards Luke, who was trying to care for his girlfriend and child but was dismissed. Bradly Cooper plays a upstanding man as he tries to tackle corruption in the police force. I found his acting very believable and realistic as he tries to be a good policeman.
I didn't expect the film to unfold as it does, because the title doesn't give it away and the trailer only shows a very small fraction of the story. I enjoyed the film very much and would recommend it to anyone who would like to be surprised.
